Tim Zimmerman, until recently managing director of Peugeot UK, has today assumed the role of president of General Motor's Southeast Asia operations.

He will be responsible for GM's expanding operations in the region and be based at the new Singapore headquarters of GM International Operations (GMIO).

Zimmerman will succeed Jim DeLuca, who has been leading GM Southeast Asia Operations on an interim basis. DeLuca was recently appointed GM executive vice president, Global Manufacturing.

Zimmerman comes to GM from PSA Peugeot Citroen, where he has worked since 1986 in vehicle and parts sales, marketing and management in the U.K., France, the Netherlands and China. His most recent post was managing director of Peugeot Motor Co. in the U.K.
