Infiniti has appointed Autotorq to develop and roll out a fully responsive used car stock locator.

The move puts the Japanese premium brand ahead of luxury carmaker competitors by connecting customers with dealers’ pre-owned inventory anytime, anywhere, on all devices, said Autotorq.

The website will be one of the first pan-European car locators for a premium brand running on a single multi-lingual and multi-currency platform.

Its responsive design means it is automatically optimised for viewing on any device

Autotorq was selected following a highly competitive four-way pitch process over a six-month period.

The work will also include dealer web administration tools and dealer support and training in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Poland.

Denis Robine, Infiniti's remarketing and rental manager, said: “Autotorq were clear leaders in the selection process and their proposal demonstrated experience and depth in understanding our pan-European used car owners and prospects.

“This solution enables us to deliver complex multiple-market programmes that work seamlessly on all screen sizes.”

Autotorq CEO Stewart Niblock said: “We are so excited about working with a brand committed to doing things differently in the retail channel.

"Infiniti stands for innovation and putting the customer experience first, so a web experience tailored around their lives is a pre-requisite.

“The latest research suggests used car buyers are using tablets and smartphones 50% of the time to find and compare dealers and cars. They increasingly use their phone to check prices and specs at the dealership.

“An optimised browsing experience for their device is perhaps their last engagement point with the Infiniti brand or centre before making a buying decision.  It is vital that they get the best possible brand experience.”
