Toyota has introduced a Project Management Degree Apprenticeship programme in the UK, enabling students to work for the brand while studying for a degree.

The four-year apprenticeship is being offered in partnership with Northumbria University and is designed so that apprentices can divide their time between office, work and virtual academic studies.

Luke Smith, Toyota (GB) specialist, talent acquisition and experience, said: “This is an opportunity for a school leaver to start their career with a major global player in the automotive industry while studying for a degree.  We are very proud of our Emerging Talent schemes and have many examples of team leaders and senior managers who started their careers as students or apprentices.”

The apprentices will work with Toyota’s Data and Insight team to develop project management skills to support improvement of the consumer experience for Toyota and Lexus in the UK.

The Project Management Apprenticeship is part of Toyota’s Emerging Talent Programme which aims to attract, cultivate and develop students who can become “innovative, customer-focused leaders”.

The programme includes: degree apprenticeships, 12-month student placements and an 18-month rotational graduate programme.

Toyota is accepting applications for apprenticeships until April 15, 2022.

Registrations can be submitted online at: Toyota GB Project Management Degree Apprenticeship.

Scottish retail group Arnold Clark Automobiles was recognised at the 2021 AM Awards, where it picked up the Apprenticeship Programme of the Year trophy.
