The Stratstone Land Rover Houghton-Le-Spring service centre now sells new and used vehicles.
The site, in Tyne and Wear, is now in operation as a full Land Rover retailer, offering a full range of new and used Land Rover vehicles as well as continuing to provide servicing, MoTs and repairs on all makes and models.
As part of the Jaguar Land Rover new global retail identity, the ‘arch’ concept, the change supports the new guidelines for retailers to have combined Jaguar and Land Rover representation in the same town or location.
The new Land Rover retailer will be sharing the site with the existing Stratstone Jaguar dealership, which earlier this year was awarded Retailer of the Year at the Jaguar Gala Dinner in Miami USA.
Stratstone, part of Pendragon, also won the Retailer Group of the Year category. It is the largest Jaguar retailer group in the UK.
The new Stratstone Land Rover Houghton-Le-Spring will expand upon the existing Stratstone Land Rover presence in the town, established for 10 years, with a group presence having been on the site since the 1940s.
Forty- two staff will continue to work at the site and the business extension has seen 13 new jobs created.
