The Retail Automotive Alliance (RAA) has announced that Brindley Garages is the latest dealer group to join its network - taking the number of shareholder members to 24.

Wolverhampton-based Brindley Garages is a third-generation family run business with 85 years trading history and has seven multi franchised sites and a large PDI / Fleet supply centre plus a dedicated used car outlet with a total turnover of £183 million.

In 2018, the RAA enjoyed another record year of growth with four new shareholder members joining the group, and with Brindley on board the organisation now expects to feature a membership with a collective turnover of £2.9 billion across more than 200 sales outlets.

RAA’s director, John Matthews, said: “For 15 years now, the focus has been on finding the right character and integrity of each new Shareholder the RAA invites into the group because it is getting that bit right which enables us to negotiate so successfully with our supplier partners and achieve a level of cost base management to rival the major Plcs.”

Brindley Garages’ chief executive, Che Watson, said: “Joining the RAA holds great value for us because we will benefit from the scale of a top 10 car retailing group which will enable us to significantly reduce our cost base and be that much more competitive than we could be alone.

“It’s not just the commercial advantage that appeals, it is the opportunity to regularly meet with like-minded business owners to share experiences, thoughts and ideas and improve our own business as a result.”
