Marshall Motor Holdings and Snows Motor Group have added London EV Company (LEVC) retail franchises as the Geely-owned taxi manufacturer increases its UK presence.

Coming just a few weeks after Endeavour Automotive announced the opening of its second LEVC retail site, at its Volvo Car UK franchised site in Slough, Marshall has added a new facility in Nottingham while Snows has opened the doors at a facility in Southampton.

All three retailers already hold Volvo Car UK franchises and the LEVC taxi platform shares many Volvo compenents, allowing some streamlining of aftersales operations.

A statement issued by LEVC said that it now has representation in 12 key cities across the UK, with its TX range extender hybrid-powered taxis now “a common sight” on the streets of Birmingham, Coventry, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as its largest market, London.

Taggarts Motor Group was an early addition to the LEVC franchise when it added a dealership in Glasgow back in April this year and, in June, Lookers became another new addition to the LEVC franchise with the opening of its retail site in Stockport.

LEVC recently celebrated a record September with its best month of sales in company history with 352 examples of the TX sold, building on month-on month sales growth since April this year.

The LEVC electric vanLEVC’s product range will grow in 2020 with the launch of their light commercial vehicle.

The brand's chief executive, Jöerg Hofmann, said: “We are delighted to welcome new partners in Nottingham, Southampton and Slough into the LEVC family, expanding our retail network as we implement our growth strategy.

“These new dealerships will help us engage with our customers in a greater number of regions in the UK, bringing us closer than ever to the people who drive our taxis every day.”

LEVC said that it has seen major demand for the TX model across the UK and Europe, with 3,000 sold since its launch in early 2018, with drivers and fleet owners enjoying its clever eCity technology, which combines 80 miles of zero-emissions pure electric range with the flexibility of a total electrically driven range of 377 miles - made possible thanks to the on-board range-extender.

In addition to savings in fuel and servicing costs, TX passengers benefit from a comfortable and luxurious cabin capable of seating six people complete with a panoramic roof, onboard wi-fi and charging points for mobile phones and laptops – creating an office environment even when on the move.
