SsangYong Motors UK adds Bury franchise to car dealership network

Parkhills Car Centre's new Ssangyong Motors UK franchise in Bury

Used car specialist Parkhills Car Centre has become the latest addition to the Ssangyong Motors UK’s franchised car retail network – adding a dealership in Bury.

The new retail point, on Manchester Road, Bury, is the brand's second new addition of the year, following the opening of Fine Cars’ showroom in Gosport back in March.

Commenting on the new addition to the network Kevin Griffin, who was appointed as managing director at SsangYong Motors UK last month, said: “We welcome Parkhills to our growing network and expect a prosperous partnership to develop.

“Parkhills is an award-winning dealership, with longevity and reflects the reputation we wish to encourage and uphold at SsangYong Motors.”

Parkhills Car Centre has been operating for over 30 years in Bury and claims to be the area’s longest-established family run used car dealership, offering a range of additional services including servicing, MOTs and repairs.

A recent expansion of the business included the addition of a new dedicated service centre.

Every vehicle sold by Parkhills is inspected to AA standards, and just recently the dealership was announced as the first ever platinum AA-inspected dealer in the UK.

John Brearley, managing director at Parkhills, said: “Having SsangYong on board is a fantastic addition to our growing business and we are very excited for the future.”

Last year was described by Ssangong Motor UK as a period of “dramatic transformation” for its retail network.

It added 10 new dealership partners in the first half of the year.

Speaking at the time, former managing director Nick Laird said: “This brand has undergone dramatic transformation over the past year with the implementation of a new growth strategy, the introduction of new, more exciting products, and, with the expected future development we have in mind, the focus on the expansion of our dealer network is of paramount importance to our customers – both existing and prospect.

“At the moment, some of our prospect customers, people who are genuinely interested in our brand and products, tell us that their nearest dealer is too far away from them, and more often than not, it is.

“Our focus on filling open points will help us and our dealers to generate more awareness for SsangYong, give buyers more confidence in the brand and sell more cars.”
