Clarks of Kidderminster has seen its turnover rise to over £100 million after growing its car retail portfolio with the addition of Citroen, Ford, Mazda and MG franchised sites in 2019.

Turnover at the family-owned car retailer rose from £94.4m to £106.5m in the 12-month period to December 31, 2019, while profit before tax increased from £2m to £2.5m.

A statement accompanying the published results stated: "Part of the increase was due to two houses within the construction division being sold.

"The acquisition of a dealership representing Ford and Mazda in Leominster which performed extremely well as did the introduction of two additional franchises in Kidderminster – MG and Citroen.

"The group performed very strongly in a challenging market.”

Clarks of Kidderminster said that the vehicles of vehicles sold in the reported period had risen by 8.46% as aftersales turnover rose by 15.72%.

Commenting on its start to a COVID-19 impacted 2020, the statement added: "Trading started off very strong in 2020, but with the current coronavirus pandemic, the directors believe business will remain more uncertain, although the group is well placed to face these challenges."

The group represents the brand from its multi-franchise site in Kidderminster, from which it also sells Kia and Suzuki.

The facility had recently been updated and features a 10-bay workshop.
