The EU’s Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) and Real Driving Emissions (RDE) tests both came into effect on September 1, replacing the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) tests.
Before the introduction of the new regime, some UK dealers expressed concerns that they would be expected to move a lot of stock before the new figures come into play.
Car manufacturers' rush to sell new cars which were not compliant with the new WLTP and RDE fuel economy and emissions legislation led to a year-on-year registrations rise of 23.1% in August, and September registrations are expected to suffer as a result.
This six-question survey on how UK franchised dealers have been affected by the new laws should take you less than a minute to complete.
