Ben is encouraging automotive sector employees to cook-up a morning treat for co-workers as part of its new ‘Big Breakfast’ fundraiser.

For a week starting on October 4 and ending on World Mental Health Day (October 10), Ben is encouraging automotive people to host a breakfast any day during the week and bring, bake, make and sell breakfast to raise money to support Ben’s work in the industry.

Those hosting Ben’s Big Breakfast can also raffle a Ben bear to fundraise.

The charity said the fundraiser also focuses on talking about mental health, connecting with others, and sharing experiences.

Matt Wigginton, director of partnerships, engagement and income at Ben, said: “We’re very eggcited about our new fundraiser - Ben’s Big Breakfast.

“It really is an eggcellent way to fundraise and support your automotive industry family.

“It’s also the perfect opportunity to boost mental wellbeing by chatting to friends, colleagues, family and customers over a cuppa.

“We hope you’ll join us for a butty and a brew in October to raise much needed funds for Ben, because, when any member of our automotive family is in crisis, we all rally to support them.

“We propose a toast to everyone who hosts Ben’s Big Breakfast - thank you for your support!”

In July, TrustFord was awarded the Payroll Giving Diamond Award 2021 in recognition of its commitment to fostering a culture of philanthropy in the workplace.

In February 2021, the company raised £75k by participating in ‘Breakout for Ben’s Active challenge’ to help the automotive sector charity bridge a £1 million funding shortfall brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the total raised over the past three years to £300k.
