BMW has revealed the full trim and pricing details of its first fully-electric SUV – the iX3.
Prices for the electric vehicle (EV) derivative of the German premium brand’s best-selling SUV (4,120 year to date in August) are £61,900 for the BMW iX3 Premier Edition or £64,900 for the BMW iX3 Premier Edition Pro.
The iX3’s 290PS electric drivetrain claims to be capable of 6.8-second acceleration to 62mph and a zero emissions range of 289 miles (WLTP test cycle).
BMW Group’s fifth-generation eDrive technology, meanwhile, is capable of sending power to both the 400V battery and the 12V on-board power supply, enabling both single-phase and three-phase charging at up to 11 kW.
“Plugging the vehicle into a direct current rapid-charging station opens the door to charging outputs of up to 150 kW, meaning the high-voltage battery can be charged from (empty) to 80% of its full capacity in 34 minutes,” BMW said in a statement issued today (September 17).
“Drivers can inject the power required to add 62 miles to the car’s driving range (in the WLTP cycle) in just 10 minutes.”
Home charging will be facilitated through a wallbox available through BMW home charge solution partner, Smart solutions.
The system is able to monitor energy usage and cost.
BMW new cloud-based sat-nav system, meanwhile, delivers detailed information on public charging stations – covering everything from address, availability and connector type through to charging rate and charge point operator.
Launching in summer 2021, UK customers have a choice of iX3 Premier Edition and BMW iX3 Premier Edition Pro trim levels.
Each will be available in a range of metallic paint colours, including: Carbon Black; Mineral White; Phytonic Blue; and Sophisto Grey.
Two exterior trim colours will be offered too, with Brushed Aluminium or Black High Gloss exterior trim.
The BMW iX3 Premier Edition will be fitted with 20-inch Black aerodynamic wheels, an automatic tailgate, adaptive suspension and a panoramic sunroof, while Vernasca leather, ambient lighting and electric seats are all feature among the interior’s standard equipment.
