The former managing director of Lookers Parts Division Neil Davis officially joined Alliance Automotive following its purchase of the operation from the AM100 group.

Davis will continue in his role as managing director of FPS Distribution Limited.

In a statement published by the London Stock Exchange, Phil White, chairman of Lookers, said: "I would like to thank Neil for his significant contribution to the company since joining the board in July 2011 and for his successful management and development of the Parts Division where he has been Managing Director of FPS since 2005 and during which time he has developed the Parts Division into a market leader in the independent automotive aftermarket sector.

“Together with all my colleagues on the board, I would like to thank Neil personally for his major contribution to the success of Lookers and we wish him well for the future".

Lookers sold its parts business to Automotive Alliance for a sum believed to be in the region of £120 million.

The acquisition was provisionally agreed in August but was completed last month and included Lookers’ parts distribution brands BTN Turbo, FPS and Apec Braking.

Speaking on the subject back in August Andy Bruce, Lookers chief executive, said the sale would allow the dealer group to focus on what it does best and he confirmed it will help fund more acquisitions for the group.
