RSM has appointed Mark Morton as a partner to strengthen its automotive sector tax and auditing expertise for OEMs and car retailers.

Morton joins the specialist consulting firm with over 25 years of experience advising clients on all aspects of employment taxes, overseas assignment issues and employee reward matters.

The new hire follows a number of recent appointments within RSM’s automotive practice including Robert De La Rue who joined as a tax partner from Jardine Motor Group in the summer.

RSM said in a statement that Morton is “a recognised specialist in company car consulting and employee car ownership arrangements” operated both within and outside the automotive sector.

He will work alongside RSM head of automotive Alison Ashley to deliver sector specific tax advice to motor manufacturers, dealerships and organisations.

Ashley said: “Mark’s appointment further strengthens our automotive offering as we continue to expand our national capability and expertise.”

Morton said: “I am excited to be joining RSM as we work to further support the automotive sector as it faces key changes in the industry with electric and hybrid powertrains, autonomous driving, Brexit and many other areas – presenting an equally exciting and challenging period.”
