Peugeot has appointed Matthew Weston as its new head of business sales, with a brief to work closely with the brand’s dealer partners.

Weston takes the role from Louise Neilson, who has moved to a different role within Groupe PSA.

He brings 25 years of experience working within the automotive sales sector, including almost 15 years with Groupe PSA.

During his time in the industry, Weston has risen from the role of sales executive to his most recent role as LCV project manager for Peugeot and Citroen.

He is credited for playing a key role in establishing the position of Peugeot and Citroen’s LCV ranges. By managing product information in line with Groupe PSA’s brand strategy, he took responsibility for a range of key elements, which will be vital to his new positon, including: pricing, specification changes and strategy.

The new role will involve close engagement with Peugeot’s Dealers, which is crucial to the brand’s ambition to establish itself as the best high-end generalist brand and to provide an electrified derivative for every model by 2023.

“I am really excited about taking on this new role with Peugeot. I have been part of the PSA family for many years now and have loved every minute of it, so it will be great to get closer to the wider Dealer network and support them in achieving our brand ambitions.

“We have set ourselves some really strong business objectives for the coming years, and I look forward to taking on the challenge of assuring the Peugeot brand continues to excel,” Weston said.

Peugeot is embarking on its electrification journey with the all-new Peugeot e-208, which is already available to order. It will be followed by the all-electric e-2008 SUV.

David Peel, managing director of Peugeot UK said: “Matt has a great track record with Groupe PSA. He has built up a wealth of experience in the automotive sales sector, and we know that he will bring the drive and tenacity we have seen from him over the past 15 years to his new role. Our plan for an electrified range is just one of the many undertakings we have committed to, and Matt’s experience with the company will be a great asset to help drive our objectives forward.”
