The Volkswagen Group aftersales commercial programmes team has appointed Stuart Carr as its new business development manager.

The group said Carr’s appointment will see him play an integral role in managing the relationship between the newly formed VW Group aftersales commercial programmes division and the wider franchised dealer network.

Carr will seek to replicate the success of the group’s tyre programme with a new oil proposition, which will see VW Group genuine oils available as an aftersales option across the network, it said.

Steve Glover, Volkswagen Group commercial programmes manager, said: “Stuart’s appointment is part of a wider development of the new team and the experience and knowledge he brings will be a valuable addition.

“By merging the oils programme with the well-established and hugely successful tyre programme, we have now a synergy across all programmes and Stuart will be an important part of delivering that new proposition into the franchised dealer network.”

Carr brings 10 years of automotive aftersales industry experience to the role, having held accessories product and service manager roles at Audi UK and the position of area operations manager at ATS Euromaster and aftersales manager at the Vindis Group.

Carr added: “With the tyre and oil programmes forming the main pillars of the new team, I will be at the heart of a division dedicated to offering high quality, commercially beneficial, aftersales opportunities across the Volkswagen Group retail network.

“Both the oil and tyre programmes are built around the strengths of Volkswagen Group on a national and global basis.

“The tyre programme has proved a flagship success and with the new genuine oils proposition on board, I am looking forward to further cementing that success within the retail network.”

VW Group aftersales commercial programmes is a newly created team within group aftersales that aims to support VW, Audi, SEAT, Skoda and Cupra retail partners.
