Vanarama founder and chief executive Andy Alderson has received the Go:Tech Awards ‘Tech Entrepreneur of the Year 22’ award.

Business Leader’s Go:Tech Awards recognise businesses and entrepreneurs ‘leading the way’ in technology and innovation across the UK, Vanarama said.

An independent panel of judges, including Oz Alashe MBE, Joel Blake OBE, Ann Hiatt, Hannah Dawson, Jonathan Lister Parsons, and Siddhi Mattal, used their tech expertise to select the winners.

Commenting on the award win, Alderson said: “It’s an absolute honour to be recognised as Tech Entrepreneur of the Year at the Business Leader Go:Tech Awards last night.

“In my case, the award should really be re-badged as, ‘Team of the Year’, in recognition of the brilliant people at Vanarama who continue to push the boundaries and collect accolades, despite dealing with the most complex and fluid trading conditions our sector has ever faced.

“I’m inspired every day by the pure grit and determination of our people, to change the way customers buy vehicles online for the better. As we continually advance our digital storefront and our scalability for our dealer, lease co, and manufacturer partners, through market-leading technology.

“I may have collected the trophy, but it’s because of the genius of my team I was able to collect the award. This one is for them, thank you.”

The award win follows Vanarama’s acquisition by online marketplace, Auto Trader.

Autorama’s acquisition comes less than a year after Alderson revealed his plan to achieve five-fold growth in the next four years in a profile interview with AM.
