Inchcape UK has enhanced its technician benefits package with a personal tool insurance up to the value of £20,000.

Officially launched on May 1, Inchcape technicians will have the opportunity to be included, free of charge to the additional benefit of personal tool insurance, fully funded by the company.

The cover will be on a ‘new for old’ basis up to the value of £20,000 and was introduced to benefit workshop and bodyshop technicians who have built up their own collection of tools.

Inchcape UK’s chief executive James Brearley (pictured) said: “Many of our technicians have built up their own high value tool collection which they use alongside the equipment we provide.

“We know these personal tools are extremely important to them and that they will have been a significant investment.

"We want to help them protect their personal property and continue to show our ongoing commitment to being the employer of choice for technicians in our industry.”

Technicians can easily sign up for the new benefit by using the internal CitNOW application to make a short video of their toolbox.

This is shared with workshop control who completes the insurance applications for all technicians at that centre.
