Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has revamped its website with the ability for customers to reserve used vans online by paying a deposit through PayPal.

The ‘Reserve On-line’ feature will hold vehicles for customers until they can arrange to purchase fully.

Customers that aren’t ready to commit to a deposit can also ‘Make an Offer’. In this case the commercial vehicle dealership is notified that someone is interested in purchasing a particular van, allowing contact to be made and negotiations to start.

A Watch List function is also enabled, showing the customer how many other people are also interested in the vehicle. The website now also contains a glossary to clarify specific product details.

The new features coincide with VW making the commercial vehicle website responsive and it has also relaunched its used van locator to improve the way customers can search the dealer network’s stock of 2,000 vans.

Barry Peat, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles national used vehicle manager, said: “The relaunched website makes it easier for our customers to instantly express a desire to purchase or confirm interest in the vehicle through Reserve On-Line and Make an Offer.

“The overall website experience has been enhanced to provide customers with easy access to the website on a mobile phone or tablet.”
