Collectors, Ford specialists and enthusiasts are being invited to bid for a collection of low-mileage 1980s fast Fords that are up for auction.

The cars have been consigned directly from a single private collector and are offered exclusively on Collecting Cars at no reserve.

Among the highlights are a 46,000-mile 1988 Ford Capri 280 Brooklands, one of just 1,038 built and fresh from a recommissioning service; a 54,000-mile 1983 Ford Escort RS1600i, a rare homologation special retaining its model-specific upgrades; a 1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth that has received a restoration; and a 53,000-mile 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo.

The gentleman behind the sale “has spent years assembling an outstanding collection of ‘fast Fords’, with a particular focus on the lightweight and analogue 1980s models”.

Offered alongside the Fords are a few other cars that fit the same ethos, including a 42,000-mile 1992 VW Corrado G60, which boasts a recent supercharger overhaul and a 1992 Peugeot 205 CTI 1.6 that is just 9,543 miles from new.

A brace of limited-edition Caterhams round out the collection.

The Fast Fords and Friends Collection is open for bids until May 21.
