BMW has today announced the insurance groupings for the Mini, which goes on sale son July 7, and a five-year fixed cost servicing package.

The entry-level Mini One will have a rating of 5E and the Mini Cooper 8E.

The 5 year/50,000 mile servicing package known as Mini tlc covers all scheduled servicing, including parts and labour and will be available to retail and fleet customers for £100 when purchased at the same time as the car new. It will also be transferable to a new owner when the car is sold on. This comes on top of the Mini standard service package that includes three year/60,000 mile warranty, six year/unlimited mileage corrosion guarantee and a three year roadside assistance programme.

Trevor Houghton-Berry, Mini UK general manager, said: “As we approach the launch, it's clear the new Mini will re-write the rulebook for the small car.”
