DM Keith has acquired Grimsby’s Westgate Motor Group in a move which sees the group expand the size of its portfolio to ten franchised dealership sites.

The acquisition of the Grimby-based operation’s Skoda, Seat and Honda franchises sees DM Keith’s make-up comprise of seven Skoda dealerships, two with Seat and a single site with the Japanese brand.

Dougal Keith, managing director of DM Keith, said: “In an uncertain economy and competitive market, DM Keith has continued to grow.

“This is a very exciting time for us and we are delighted to add another Skoda and Seat dealership to our portfolio.

“With the addition of the Westgate Motor Group we are thrilled to expand into a new brand with Honda.

“Again, this is a great strategic fit into the DM Keith group as the acquisition fits geographically well with our established sites across Yorkshire.”

Keith said that the group had been looking for a new brand to add to its portfolio for “quite some time” and described Honda as a “great fit”.

He added: “We would like to take this opportunity to welcome the Westgate team to the D. M. Keith family and wish good luck to Robert Addison who had built up the Westgate Motor Group in his retirement.”

Employees from the Westgate business will be transferred to DM Keith, which employs 250 people and is headquartered in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

DM Keith Ltd has been established in the Yorkshire area for more than 50 years and has operated a Skoda dealership in Leeds since 1976.
