Private investment firm Sun European has acquired 16-site collision repair group Alton Cars for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 1979, Alton Cars is headquartered in the North of England and offers a range of repair services, including bodywork, paint and technical calibration.
Alexander Wyndham, Sun European Partners managing director, said: “The repair services sector is highly fragmented so the acquisition of Alton creates strong potential to grow the group capability through strategic acquisitions that will increase market share and deliver quality solutions to its customers.
“We are excited about the opportunity to work closely with the team.”
Neilson Jones, Alton Cars managing director, said working with Sun European as its new partner will help to further scale the business and “capitalise on new opportunities”.
Jones acquired Alton Cars in 2022 for an undisclosed sum as part of a Management Buyout (MBO).
