Vospers has targeted greater aftersales efficiency from its £12m supersite which is scheduled to open in Exeter later this year.

The car dealer’s new 61,215 square foot facility at Matford, opening late 2018, will feature a new FordStore and five showrooms for Ford, Mazda, Fiat, Jeep and Alfa Romeo.

The new supersite, due for showroom launches in November, will see the consolidation of Vospers’ three current sites in Exeter, all relocating to the new Matford Way site, adjacent to the recently opened Audi site and opposite Jaguar and Land Rover.

Key to the profitability presented by the new development will be a focus on aftersales which promises to deliver a one-hour turnaround to customers seeking a vehicle service.

Vospers’ service director, Neil Tickner, said: “Featuring the very latest equipment and processes, Vospers will be offering the highest quality and most efficient servicing available."

The site will benefit from 28 servicing bays, equipped with a Proline multi-check lane with the latest 4-wheel alignment system, allowing brakes, battery, tyre pressures and tread depths to be checked automatically when driving on to a ramp – rather than manually.

Vospers Exeter supersite 2018 The technology will enable ‘express servicing’, accroding to Vospers, ensuring a one-hour turnaround on services and MOTs.

Vospers Express Servicing will be available seven days a week to every class of vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes, including mini buses and public service vehicles from four dedicated express bays.

Customers will benefit from video from trained technicians explaining the work required or checks undertaken.

Introduced by Vospers a year ago, the concept has proved “extremely successful”, with the car dealer on track to deliver 20,000 videos to customers this year.

There will also be a dedicated Transit Centre and Business Centre, alongside a Used Car Centre with more than 250 used cars.

The main contractor for the £12m build is APP Construction, with several local contractors appointed to assist in the delivery of the project. Work on the structural steelwork has been completed and work on fitting the roof is underway.

Tickner added: “We pride ourselves on outstanding customer service and the new supersite in Exeter will only enhance that.

"The workshop facilities will be state-of-the-art and customers will benefit from regular communication from our highly trained team of technicians, aided by the latest technology available in the motor industry.”
