Sytner has appointed Midas Construction to build £12.3 million new Guy Salmon Jaguar Land Rover dealership at Cribbs Causeway, near Bristol.

Showrooms and parking areas with capacity for more than 400 vehicles together with workshops and servicing bays will be accommodated on the 72,000sq-ft site, which is expected to open in Spring 2020.

Office space over two floors, plus roof a deck will maximise the space available to the AM100’s top-placed retail group at the facility, which complies to JLR’s Dual Arch Concept corporate identity.

Work is set to get under way on site after Christmas and is expected to be completed in spring 2020.

Derek Quinn, executive director for Midas Construction, said: “It is a source of immense pride for us as a locally-based business to be delivering major new projects across a variety of sectors, thereby contributing to the development of our region’s economic, cultural and built environment.

“We are delighted to be working with Sytner Group at Cribbs Causeway on what will be an impressive new Jaguar Land Rover showroom, and building on our relationship with them as they continue to expand their coverage across the UK.

The new JLR facility is the latest in a string of facilities development projects by Sytner Group.

Sytner Group has been given the green light by planning officials for the development of a new Guy Salmon Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Portsmouth.

Replacing the existing Guy Salmon Land Rover dealership on Compass Rd, Portsmouth, the new dealership is expected to – located on a 1.62 hectare site – create more than 100 jobs.

This year the group’s used car supermarket has already made moves to develop an all-new retail site in Nottingham.

The Car Shop outlet is planned for the transformation of a former Homebase DIY store off Queens Road and the group is now awaiting on a decision from planning officials.

The most recent car dealership developments for Sytner Group follow its creation of the UK’s largest BMW and Mini dealership in the form of a 200,000 square-foot facility in Sheffield.

Located just a mile from the busy Meadowhall Shopping Centre, and a stone’s throw from the M1, the BMW Group facility is the largest project ever undertaken by the AM100’s top retail group – delivering over five acres of indoor floor space.
