Vauxhall introduces 48-hour test drive programme on Corsa-e

Vauxhall Corsa-e

Vauxhall is offering potential buyers a 48-hour test drive in the all-electric Corsa-e hatchback at its franchised car dealerships across the UK.

The ‘Switch it up’ test drive campaign offers runs until November 1 and gives potential buyers two full days to experience the PSA Group-owned brand's debut electric vehicle (EV).

Vauxhall said the extended test-drive will help potential first-time EV buyers.

Test drives have been identified as key in car retailers' efforts to sell EVs, with Hyundai recently launching a dedicated 10-day event and Geely's Polestar brand being quickly overwhelmed by interest in its Polestar 2 test drive tour.

Vauxhall's Corsa-e is powered by a 50kWh battery and comes with a zero-emissions range of up to 209 miles from a single charge and supports up to 100kW rapid charging technology – allowing for an 80% charge in as little as 30 minutes.

The Corsa-e is priced from £27,655 OTR after the Plug-in Car Grant.

Vauxhall said it offers a free six-month subscription to the Polar public charging network with the Corsa-e and offers buyers a PCH rental at £275 with an advance of £2,200.

The latest AM industry special issue

The complexity of running a modern dealership can be misunderstood easily by people looking in on our industry.

Any general manager has so many plates to spin, and they must foster a talented team that they can rely on to not just do the basics well, but to sprinkle some magic on top that customers can notice.

If the marketplace in 2023 is steadily returning to relative normality, this normality now includes the drive to find customers for an increasing supply of electric vehicles, and the need to source used cars from all channels and market them carefully. And of course there are the desires to delight consumers with an omnichannel experience and to hold on to decent margins after a couple of years of strong profitability.

The expectations of both the customer and the business’s stakeholder must be achieved to the optimum level.

In this special digital publication, industry experts, prominent suppliers and franchised dealers share their insights on the major aspects required in running a modern dealership well.
