SsangYong Motors UK has announced the addition of Close SsangYong to its franchised car retail network.

The eight-car SsangYong showroom, located off Frank Perkins Parkway, Peterborough, includes a hospitality area with free Wi-Fi for customers, a large external forecourt and an aftersales centre offering servicing and MOTs.

Ssangyong said that Close Motor Company has ambitious plans to extend the site further in the coming months.

Kevin Griffin, managing director at SsangYong Motor UK, said: “We are delighted to welcome Close Motor Company to our franchise. The group has done a fantastic job to create a business that perfectly reflects the true values and the merits of our brand and product range.

“Close has exceptional experience in 4x4s and SUVs - with the latest Musso now on sale, the timing couldn’t have been better.”

On display there is a model line-up which includes the brands flagship Rexton, a new facelifted Musso pick-up truck, the crossover Korando and Tivoli compact SUV.

Simon Close, director owner at Close SsangYong, said: “A refreshed product range that is underscored by excellent reliability and great value, the commercial decision has been taken to expand our portfolio to encompass SsangYong Motors.

“We look forward to welcoming existing and new customers to our friendly showroom, and I am sure that they will be very impressed with what they see.”

SsangYong recently welcomed PJ Nicholls to its growing franchised car dealer network.

The Worcestershire-based Ford franchisee, located Pershore, joins the Korean brand’s network after Livingstone Motor Group became its second franchisee in the city of Hull.

It also follows the addition of Subaru and Mitsubishi dealer Ashby and Mann in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

The family-run Close Motor Company also has a dealer showroom located in Corby, Northamptonshire.
