Bristol Street Motors, Marshall and Richmond Motor Group win Hyundai dealer awards

The team at Bristol Street Motors Peterlee Hyundai celebrate their achievement

Bristol Street Motors Peterlee has been named as Hyundai's Best Overall Dealer as Marshall and Richmond Motor Group jointly secured the brand's Overall Dealer Group award.

Hyundai Motor UK revealed the results of its latest annual dealer awards this week, with Vertu Motors' Bristol Street Motors Peterlee Hyundai crowned as outright winner after finishing ahead of 150 fellow franchised sites in the 2021 Hyundai Balanced Score Card league.

Paul Walton, franchise director for Hyundai at Vertu Motors, said: “A massive congratulations to our team at Bristol Street Motors Peterlee Hyundai – I couldn’t be prouder of them as individuals and as a collective.

“To be ranked number one for eight out of the 12 months of the year and to finish number one overall, is a phenomenal achievement. It’s one in which everyone at the dealership should be immensely proud.

“The skill and passion to achieve the number one spot is impressive enough, but the consistency in which the colleagues at Peterlee go about their business is what has set the dealership apart from the competition this year. They are a true credit to the network, division and the group.”

Marshall Hyundai and Richmond Hyundai shared the Overall Dealer Group award for consistently high performances across all their Hyundai sites.

Marshall Hyundai and Richmond Hyundai also shared first place with Vertu Hyundai in the group customer excellence award, with Marshall Hyundai Gloucester collecting the overall dealership winner for customer excellence.

Marshall Hyundai Maidstone also won Aftersales dealer of the year, while Richmond’s total number of awards stands at four, also named Sales and Aftersales Dealer Group of the year.

Hyundai Motor UK achieved its highest ever yearly market share in 2021, recording 4.23% of new car sales during 2021.

Its fully electric models surpassed 10,000 registrations in 2021, with surging demand for the newly introduced Ioniq 5, the first model built on Hyundai’s new E-GMP bespoke electric vehicle (EV) platform.

Ashley Andrew, managing director of Hyundai Motor UK, said: “2021 was a fantastic year for Hyundai Motor UK, with nearly 70,000 cars registered and enormous demand for our plug-in hybrid and fully electric models.

“Our dealers remain an absolutely crucial phase in the sales and ownership process for our buyers and achieving record market share – as we did last year – simply wouldn’t have been possible without their valuable support and dedication.”

Ancaster Group’s Hyundai Bluewater store has been transformed into the Korean car maker’s first ‘Electrified’ store as its accelerates its launch of electric vehicles (EV).
