Aston Barclay head office staff recently dressed up as superheroes to raise money for Children in Need.

The auction group donated £5 for every car sold from either Volkswagen Financial Services or Motability. The final amount raised from the charity auction, donations from buyers and a Children in Need-themed bake sale at Aston Barclay’s largest site totalled £1,136.92.

Also on offer, as 300 entries passed under the hammer, were various prizes including stunt flying and tank driving sessions. In order to maximise funds further, Aston Barclay waived all online auction Live fees.

All proceeds from the charity sale goes straight towards UK projects that focus on helping disadvantaged children and young people across the country. Since the first Children in Need telethon in 1980, over £600 million has been raised.

Martin Potter, remarketing director (South), said: “Every member of the Aston Barclay Chelmsford team was extremely excited to kick-off our charity sale.

“As all staff were dressed up in their favourite superhero costumes, the atmosphere among the buyers was fantastic. It was great to raise £1,136.92 for Children in Need, which will make a real difference for this fantastic cause.”
