Carwow has appointed former Who Can Fix My Car marketing director Alex Rose as its new head of trading.

The London-based online car buying platform took its number of employees to 61 with the appointment of Rose, who was previously responsible for all B2B and B2C marketing for the car repair quote comparison site

Rose has also held positions as an industry manager and analyst for the automotive industry at Google UK and marketing roles within BMW.

As head of trading at Carwow Rose will be tasked with ensuring that the business generates a customer mix that is ever-more aligned with their member dealers' businesses, in terms of make and model mix, geographical coverage and more.

James Hind, who founded Carwow in 2013, said: "It's very important to me that we recruit the right talent; people who are really going to buy into what we're trying to achieve here at Carwow.

“Alex has fantastic automotive experience and I know that he will be instrumental to our future growth. 2016 is a really exciting year for us and we're glad to have Alex on-board for the ongoing journey."

Carwow recently celebrated the milestone of reaching one million users and its latest funding round in which £12.5m worth of investment was raised.

Commenting on his new role at the growing business, Rose said: "While the technologies available on new cars appear to be advancing quickly, the automotive industry has, until recently, been slow to embrace this 'new way' of researching and purchasing products.

“Carwow has brought a '2016 consumer experience' to the second-largest purchase decision most of us will ever make.

“I look forward to playing my part in the team."
