Carzam has appointed CarShop’s Dave Palmer as its new chief vehicle preparation officer as it aims to deliver the “highest quality of vehicles” to online used car buyers.

Palmer joins the Big Motoring World-backed online car retail operation from a position as vehicle preparation officer at Sytner Group’s CarShop used car supermarket division – bringing 25 years of industry experience.

Carzam said that he will heading up Carzam’s vehicle preparation operations, ensuring that it offers the best vehicles possible to its wholesalers and retail customers.

Kirk O’Callaghan, Carzam’s chief executive, who also joined the business from CarShop back in February, said: “Dave’s appointment is hugely strategic for us as it brings yet more skill and experience into Carzam.

“Dave is one of the few people in the UK who can deliver the highest quality of vehicle prep at large scale volumes.

“Carzam is led by a team of seasoned car industry professionals and Dave is the absolute perfect fit, with an unbeatable skillset and a perfectionist’s approach to vehicle preparation.”

Palmer said: “Carzam’s approach to the market is a fascinating and diverse one, led by a desire to offer the very best to both its wholesale and its retail customers.

“One of the most crucial elements is ensuring the absolute best in vehicle preparation quality.

“Carzam is accelerating change within the automotive retail sector and the highest quality of vehicles are at the core of Carzam’s customer proposition.”

Online car retail platform Carzam was officially launched in December last year with a promise to differentiate itself from rivals through the provision of “the absolute best used car stock”.

Founded by Big Motoring World boss Peter Waddell and former Cox Automotive president John Bailey, Carzam’s vehicle preparation takes place at Big Motoring World’s £14 million logistics hub in Peterborough.
