Dealer profitability firm ASE Global has bought automotive IT solutions provider Edentity Software Solutions.

Edentity will remain at its current offices in Austria, however Manchester-based ASE said it will be integrating Edentity technology into ASE products and extending the ASE product portfolio in the UK.

Edentity’s systems include used vehicle management, dealer benchmarking and sales and marketing applications for commercial vehicle manufacturers.

ASE chief executive Rob Jones said: “This represents a large investment to enhance our existing coverage of the important German market, to increase our skilled resource base and benefit from the synergies of shared automotive technological expertise. It will also expand our work with a key German vehicle manufacturer.

“Adding Edentity products to the suite already in existence at ASE and developing new ones, is all part of our commitment to continually lead the automotive industry globally in delivering relevant and innovative solutions.

“The acquisition will support us in our mission to drive dealer profitability throughout the global automotive sector.”

Thomas Schulze, founder of Edentity, said: “I created Edentity in 2000 in response to a specific automotive demand and this has continued to increase year after year. Edentity offers highly flexible software solutions for the automotive industry.

“We are looking forward to being part of ASE who can now take over the wider daily processes of running the business allowing us to focus, alongside ASE’s existing team, on our area of expertise in automotive software development.”
