Mentor Systems has "underlined its commitment" to data security by gaining certification to the internationally-recognised ISO 27001 standard.

The Watford-based DMS and CRM provider met the strict criteria of an independent assessment conducted by the British Assessment Bureau to demonstrate its commitment to keeping their data, staff and premises secure.

Mentor Systems has now earned the right to display the British Assessment Bureau quality shield and ISO 27001 logo to demonstrate its conformance to the standard.

Mentor Systems’ information security manager, Paul Heams, said: “We’re particularly pleased to have achieved ISO 27001 certification as it underlines our commitment and focus on security.

“This recognition demonstrates we provide a secure dealer management system and software solutions.”

ISO 27001 is the internationally recognised Information Security Management Standard that proves an organisation’s commitment to the security of their customer, employee and shareholder’s information.

With ISO 27001 in place, Mentor Systems are able to minimise risks to potential data security breaches and reduce errors and costs, while demonstrating credibility and trust.

Mentor System has shown they have good software reliability and process controls, which means they can deliver quality products with increased data security for their customers.

The benefits of certification to ISO 27001 include:

  • Proving to clients an organisation keeps their information secure
  • Achieve operational excellence
  • Minimise risk of potential data security breaches
  • Protects reputation
