Mill Garages is re-opening its pop up Volvo showroom at Gateshead’s Metro Centre until March 13 after using the concept for a six week period last year.

Mill Road attracted over 150 customers a day between September and October last year.

The dealer group will be running a number of in-store competitions with prizes like theatre tickets and dinner at Macro Pierre White’s Steakhouse.

The pop-up retail display features five Volvo models and will have specialist Mill Volvo sales executives, dressed down in Volvo t-shirts to talk to customers.

Bill Ward, Mill Garages Volvo managing director, said: “I think there’s definitely a degree of trepidation when people enter a car dealership but this has really broken down the barriers and helped generate a lot of interest for us.

“It also allows potential customers that we struggled to reach out to before to interact with us and make them more aware of the Volvo brand.

“It is a move that other brands are beginning to see the merits in and it’s great that we are trailblazers in the North East.”

Other prizes on offer include a round of four-ball at Close House Golf Club, four tickets of choice at Mill Tyne Theatre, dinner for two at Marco Pierre White's, dinner for two at the Rib Room, Ramside Hall and a weekend's Volvo hire.
