Jardine Motors Group goes responsive with new website

Top 10 AM100 dealer group Jardine Motors Group will relaunch its new website at the end of this year to be fully responsive.

The website uses GForce’s NetDirector Auto V10 and the change to responsive is in comparison to how Jardine was previously operating, with a separate mobile website.

The new website will scale to any device screen size.

The group had observed that visits from mobiles and tablets had increased to over 55% of total visits – up from around 46% for the same period last year.

Jason Cranswick, Jardine Motors Group commercial director, said: “We have, for a long time, operated a separate mobile site which has been catering for traffic coming from these devices.

“However, with the majority of visits now originating from smartphones or tablets, we saw an opportunity to improve the customer’s experience while simultaneously reinventing our digital dealership.”

The decision to adopt NetDirector Auto V10 came after an “intensive assessment process” during which Jardine looked at numerous technology platforms from a variety of providers. Important factors for Jardine included the necessity for a website to scale across a group representing 23 manufacturers at over 70 locations throughout the UK.

Cranswick said: “Our experience over the last few years with the last-generation website has taught us that customers’ expectations have risen in-line with the tools and services they see elsewhere.

“For our business we needed a platform that really was market-leading and could position our brand for the digital experience that our customers are increasingly seeking while making the job for those who maintain it more straightforward.”

The new website features interactive interior and exterior 360-degree tours of vehicles, a pre-populated media library for the brands Jardine represents and a single content management system (CMS) through which both desktop and mobile content can be edited.

Other features include tools like Reevoo customer reviews and What Car? Professional reviews, CAP data integration and live chat technology. The website also feature online service booking and tyre ordering system.
