Pentagon Motor Group has officially opened its new Peugeot UK dealership sites in Barnsley and Lincoln with a visit from the French brand's UK managing director.

Joining the Derbyshire-based AM100 retail group’s existing dealerships in Burton and Scunthorpe both new facilities offer new and used vehicle sales, as well as complete parts and service support for customers.

The Barnsley site was formerly a Fiat dealership with Pentagon, and also houses an existing Pentagon Nissan dealership.

Pentagon’s new Lincoln showroom has been completely refurbished and rebranded from former Citroen use, with that marque now in separate premises on the multi-franchise site.

Pentagon Motor Group, managing director, David Lewis, was joined Peugeot UK managing director David Peel for the opening of the two new sites.

Lewis said: “We have watched Peugeot developing steadily in the UK, with new models in important sectors and strong credentials in the electric/hybrid sector.

“Its ascendancy continues to be demonstrated, with What Car and Company Car Today Awards already picked up since the start of the year.

“These come on top of recognition in 2019 with such things as ‘Most Dependable Brand’ in the J.D. Power survey and its win in the highly important SUV sector with ‘New Car of the Year’ at Auto Trader New Car Awards.

“It has impressive implementation plans for electric and hybrid vehicles for the current year, and we see it as a manufacturer with both the desire and ability to keep growing.

“We are very happy to join Peugeot on that journey.”

Peugeot’s electric vehicle (EV) launch strategy gets properly underway in 2020 with the imminent arrival of the fully electric new e-208 and e-2008 models in showrooms in the coming weeks.

Plug-in hybrid versions of the 3008 and 5008 are also set to join the brand’s model line-up.

The launches are key to the French brand which has joined a PSA Group move to gear its dealer bonus structure to incentivise sales of low CO2 emitting cars.

Peel said: “At Peugeot we look for dealer partners who understand our ethos and want to work to our standards.

“They are the public face of our brand with customers, so it is very important that they believe both in our products and our values.

“We see Pentagon as an ideal partner in all these regards and look forward to sharing in their success as we move forward together.”

Pentagon, which is part of Motus Group (UK), now operates 50 franchise outlets across a range of major vehicle manufacturers, with 26 sites across the East Midlands, North West, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
