Pendragon has united the BMW and Mini brands in Derby following a multi-million project to redevelop its existing Stratstone car retail site.

Doors officially opened to the AM100 PLC’s now completed 50,000sq-ft facility this week, bring the ability to house 14 of the newest BMW and Mini vehicles under one roof and 150 pre-owned on an exterior forecourt.

Customers are being invited to an opening event at the site, on Sir Frank Whittle Road, West Meadows Industrial Estate, Derby, today (April 22), where they will be invited to take vehicle test drives and exclusive offers as well as browsing a selection of classic cars.

Pendragon's redeveloped BMW and Mini Stratstone showroom in DerbyA spokesperson for Stratstone BMW and Mini Derby said: “We are delighted to be able to open our doors and invite new and existing customers to our state-of-the-art facility in Derby.

“Each element has been redesigned with the customer experience in mind, allowing us to showcase an extensive range of BMW and MINI vehicles within a captivating atmosphere.

“An estimated 15 new jobs will be created, marking a significant investment into both the local area and the BMW and MINI brands.

“The showroom redevelopment highlights our desire to provide a unique service that exceeds all customer expectations.”

Last month Pendragon chief executive Bill Berman said he was “delighted” with the car retail group’s 2021 financial results, which revealed a record underlying profit before tax of £83 million.

The results put the group on-track to achieve its target of delivering an underlying profit before tax of £85m to £90m targeted in 2020 with the help of a relaunched Car Store used car division.

It has also continued to invest in its franchised sites, with plans recently revealed for a new-look Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) dealership in London’s Mayfair.

The new dealership design introduces specific BMW M and BMW i zones and – in the case of the Derby site – 20 service technician bays, allowing waiting times to be reduced.

Customers can also benefit from SMART repair facilities and an all-new multi-storey car park with 20 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points for the exclusive use of visitors to the showroom, Pendragon said.
