Fix Auto UK has expanded its network with the addition of Fix Auto Pembrokeshire, an established family-run repair centre located in one of the furthest points in West Wales.
Formerly known as Withybush Coachworks Ltd, the business was formed in 1963 and has remained within the same family ever since.
The current manager, Adrian Haworth, ran the business alongside his father, Dave, for 11 years before his retirement and has been in sole charge for the last 26 years.
The 8,000 sq ft centre is positioned between Fix Auto Swansea and Fix Auto Aberystwyth to serve communities spanning Pembroke, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Fishguard and Cardigan.
While Haworth continues to oversee the business, he is accompanied by his three sons, Will, his assistant manager and VDA, Laurie, who manages front of house and customer liaison and panel technician Joe.
Four further productives ensure up to 20 vehicles a week are repaired, with scope to increase.
Haworth said: "We have happily gone about our business for decades and have forged an unrivalled reputation throughout our community for repairing vehicles to the highest standards possible.
"I am extremely proud of the craftsmanship here but, if I’m being truthful, we are isolated here in West Wales, and I believe we needed to be part of an organisation to future proof the business. The help and guidance provided by the Fix Auto team will undoubtedly elevate us into the 21 st century.
“I am not getting any younger and I am extremely fortunate to have my sons in the business, I want them to adopt the latest management techniques and expertise to secure their, and the business’s, future.”
Fix Auto UK’s operations director Mark Hutchins, added: “Bringing Fix Auto Pembrokeshire into the network is yet another significant step for us in our quest to continually grow and develop the network.
"Adrian has to be proud of the business that has been his lifeblood for decades but, he recognises, the time is now right to be part of a larger organisation where he and his team can feed off and work with an organisation of like-minded repairers which is where we’re able to support them."
