Citroën officially launches online new car sales in the UK

Citroen Store online car sales platform from PSA Group

Citroën has followed the launch of its Virtual Showroom vehicle tour platform with the offer of end-to-end online new car sales via the new ‘Citroën Store’.

The UK becomes the first market territory after France to offer online new car sales for the PSA Group-owned brand in car buying process can be completed in as little as 20 minutes.

Citroën said that online customers will benefit from exclusive lower prices and benefit from an offer of home delivery, which means they will not have to set foot in a franchised car dealership.

AM reported back in June that PSA Group would be selling cars via its Virtual Showroom platform and Citroën’s online sales offer comes more than two years after sister brand Peugeot brought its ‘Order Online’ retail platform to the UK.

Eurig Druce, who was appointed as managing director of Citroën UK earlier this year, said: “Citroën is dedicated to increasing convenience by offering greater access to our products and services than ever before, while maintaining the same quality showroom experience our customers are used to when visiting one of our physical retail sites.

“In light of the crisis, we know more and more customers are reassessing their purchase decisions, and want to buy their next car from a brand that they trust.

“By creating a more user-friendly digital journey, and encouraging online shopping, we hope to extend the Citroën Advanced Comfort programme beyond just great products, and into the services and experiences we offer our customers.”

During September the new Citroën Store is offering the C1 city car from £139 per month among its online offers.

Citroën customers who wish to have their vehicle financed on PCP can apply through PSA Finance, and determine their deposit and payment schedule from home.

Other September offers include, the New C3 supermini available from £179 per month, whilst the Citroën SUV range can be enjoyed from £199 per month for C3 Aircross and £209 per month for C5 Aircross.

The latest AM industry special issue

The complexity of running a modern dealership can be misunderstood easily by people looking in on our industry.

Any general manager has so many plates to spin, and they must foster a talented team that they can rely on to not just do the basics well, but to sprinkle some magic on top that customers can notice.

If the marketplace in 2023 is steadily returning to relative normality, this normality now includes the drive to find customers for an increasing supply of electric vehicles, and the need to source used cars from all channels and market them carefully. And of course there are the desires to delight consumers with an omnichannel experience and to hold on to decent margins after a couple of years of strong profitability.

The expectations of both the customer and the business’s stakeholder must be achieved to the optimum level.

In this special digital publication, industry experts, prominent suppliers and franchised dealers share their insights on the major aspects required in running a modern dealership well.
