The funeral of former TrustFord chairman and chief executive Stuart Foulds will reflect his support for Ben by attracting donations to the automotive charity in lieu of flowers.

Family friends and former colleagues will gather at the main chapel in Mortonhall Crematorium, Howdenhall Road, Edinburgh, on Thursday (August 4) to celebrate the life of the former boss of the Ford-owned AM100 car retail group and director of Pendragon’s Evans Halshaw Ford division.

And the event will continue support shown to Ben through the Breakout For Ben charity event and collections at its annual awards and conferences which were encouraged by Foulds during his time with the business.

“It was a charity very close to his heart”, said a statement issued by Foulds’ family.

The family have also organised a live stream of Thursday’s funeral service to allow the “many people that cared about him far and wide” to observe the celebration of his life.

Foulds, who was inducted into the AM Hall of Fame at May’s AM Awards, died at the age of 67 on July 14 – just weeks after undergoing heart surgery.

Former Ford of Britain managing director Andy Barratt and Inchcape chief executive James Brearley were among the first to pay tribute to a man described as a “gentleman of the industry”, along with former colleagues from Pendragon.

His death came just months after his February 2022 retirement from his role at TrustFord.
