On-screen stars from across the car retailer sector have been shortlisted for CitNOW’s 2019 Video Awards.

A record 1,676 nominations as the app-based communications platform continued to expand into international markets, with the ‘Best International CitNOW Video’ to be contested by entrants from as far afield as Australia.

The overall shortlist of 40 nominees will compete across four categories – Workshop, Sales, International and Most Creative – as well as the prestigious Best Overall CitNOW award.

The winners will be announced on January 14.

Alistair Horsburgh, CitNOW’s chief executive, said: “It’s been a landmark year for personalised video, and that’s been reflected in the number and the quality of videos entries we’ve received.

“Every year we are taken aback by how innovative, creative and polished the video entries can be as dealerships and workshops truly embrace what personalised video can bring to the customer journey, and this year has been no exception, with some outstanding examples of ingenuity and best practice.”

CitNOW said that several retailers had demonstrated an impressive level of quality across their sites to earn multiple nominations.

Lookers and Arnold Clark will be competing for the most honours, with an impressive four nominations apiece across the Best Sales, Best Workshop and Most Creative use of CitNOW categories.

Individual sites also earned several category shortlistings, as Think Ford Basingstoke earned two Best Sales CitNOW nominations, while Lookers Nissan Gateshead has two places in the Best Workshop CitNOW shortlist.

The shortlist for the ‘Most Creative Use of CitNOW Video’ showcases the true flexibility of personalised video with shortlisted videos ranging from an alloy wheel guessing game to a pet accessory demonstration with the help of man’s best friend.
