The model would go up against cars like the BMW 1 Series.

Toru Saito, corporate vice president and leader of the Global Infiniti Business Unit, said, the Etherea is aimed at younger buyers that don’t want just a “smaller version of a typically conservative and traditional luxury car”.

Infiniti said the design incorporates elements of coupe, saloon, hatchback and crossover.

The Etherea will make its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1.
