The London EV Company (LEVC) is expecting to increase its sales volumes by 50% to 3,750 units to this year as it gears up for expansion.

The Geely-owned business expanded its product line-up beyond the TX taxi with the TX shuttle variant in September last year and will increase its range further with an electric van variant in Q4 this year.

In order to meet the company’s 2020 growth strategy, over 100 new jobs will be created at its headquarters in Ansty, near Coventry.

Joerg Hofmann, LEVC chief executive, said: “We are at a pivotal time in LEVC’s history.

“Our strategic direction is on track as we deliver consistent, planned growth and I’m delighted to be able to create new job opportunities this year to support the continuing success of our business.”

Both the TX models and new electric van use LEVC’s e-City range extender technology, with 80 miles of zero emissions range and an extended electrically driven total range of over 370 miles.

LEVC currently has 10 dealerships across the UK with three in London, Slough, Southampton, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Edinburgh and Glasgow with dealer groups like Lookers, Marshall, Endeavour and Snows all taking on the franchise.
