Snows sees Click & Go used car sales soar in ‘Lockdown 2’

Snows Motor Group has seen its ‘Click & Go’ click and collect used car retail offering deliver soaring sales results during COVID-19 ‘Lockdown 2’.

The Southampton-based AM100 car retail group has revealed that the socially-distanced process, launched on May 22, has grown from 26 sales in the entire month of June to the delivery of 35 end-to-end sales per day during October.

Its success has come in combination with £99 deposit campaign originally launched back in August 2019, which had enjoyed “reasonable” take up until March 2020, according to group chief executive, Stephen Snow.

“When clarification was given by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), that retailers could complete sales on dealership premises on the condition that customers did not enter the showroom environment, we hit the ground running,” Snow said.

“We already had the £99 deposit scheme in place, but we knew Click & Go would be key to our business.

“Alongside a CitNOW best practice video training course for our sales teams, we swiftly developed a Click & Go system which was as simple as possible to navigate, with as few clicks as possible.”

In an October car retailer face-to-face feature with AM magazine, Snow was keen to highlight the positive impact of the H1 COVID-19 lockdown period.

Admitting that the period had allowed him and the business’s other leaders to “step back and realise our shortcomings”, it brought about the fast-tracking of an end-to-end online retail offering through GForces.

The company launched Click & Go on May 22 and achieved eight, full end-to-end sales that month.

In June, July and August, September and October there were 26, 23 and 27, 25 and 35 ‘Click & Go’ sales, with Lockdown 2 now averaging 15 to 20 orders a day.

Reflecting on the scheme’s success this week, Snow said: “Our teams are on hand throughout the process to deliver highly effective and comprehensive video calls and walkarounds, as well as support on the phone, via Live Chat, and through our online enquiry form.

“It is imperative customers feel they are receiving the excellent customer service they expect from Snows and feedback from our Click & Go customers shows they feel in control, confident and secure using the system.”

Family-owned Snows operates 50 dealerships from 29 locations across southern England and is the AM100 2019’s 45th-placed franchise retail group by turnover, having generated revenues of £429m in 2019.
