Accident repair network Fix Auto UK has added RS Autocare in Gravesend, Kent to its network.

The bodyshop, which will now operate as Fix Auto Gravesend, was founded 35 years ago by owner Mickey Helaith’s uncle, with him taking over the business six years ago.

Joining the network was seen as a way to accelerate his plans to expand and develop the business into a multi-site operation.

Helaith said: “We have a great team here and the business has been providing retail customers with a fine service and exemplary repairs.

“Over recent times we have moved into repairing vehicles for insurance companies.

“I recognise I have a lot to learn about the industry, particularly in serving insurance companies which is an area where we have moved more into over the last 12 months or so.

“We need help and guidance if we are to continue to succeed and develop the business.

“I have big ambitions of where I want to take us and they certainly include developing into a multi-site operation.

Fix Auto Gravesend is a 5,500sq ft two-booth bodyshop which operates with a team of nine, who repair up to 20 vehicles per week.

The Fix Auto global franchised network now has more than 730 bodyshops and carries out more than 150,000 body repairs per year for motor insurance companies, fleets and retail customers.

Fix Auto UK director Ian Pugh said: “Mickey has big ambitions for his business, and we can certainly help to support and guide his journey.

“Bringing on another new franchisee from within the Home Counties is of huge benefit to help strengthen our network.”

Earlier this year, Fix Auto UK added its fifth new franchisee within the M25 area since the start of 2019, with H&L Motors (Heathrow) joining the network.
