Contact At Once! sales director Thom Coupar-Evans will reveal how car dealers can ‘join the dots’ to achieve better customer communication and reveal insight from Robins and Day’s roll-out of Apple Business Chat.

Five Robins and Day dealerships were part of a global launch for Apple Business Chat beta, which enables customers to engage with businesses through its rich messaging facility on their iPad, iPhone, Mac or Apple Watch.

With initial feedback said to be “encouraging”, Coupar-Evans will share dealers’ early experience with Apple Business Chat and provide more information on the service, how it works and the benefits when he delivers the company’s live chat best practice session at the event on November 8.

He said: “There has already been an uplift in engagement and conversion because suggestions such as test drive times, can be made in a very easy and quick manner.”

Automotive Management Live is a one-day expo at Birmingham NEC which brings together franchised dealers, OEMs, independents and suppliers as well as delivering a host of best practice seminars.

Coupar-Evans will also explain the Contact At Once! ‘conversational commerce’ concept and the continuous journey that its integrated live chat and messaging platform delivers enabling dealers to ‘join the dots’ of otherwise segmented communication channels.

The session will also explain how engaging consumers at the top of the funnel in the channel of their choice including sharing media with them such as 360-vehicle walk-around videos, results in a higher volume of active messages which translates into more sales.

Coupar-Evans said: “The outlook is challenging for the dealer so they need to maximise every consumer who walks through their door in whatever media.

“We have some dealer groups in the UK who are really embracing conversational commerce and are looking at implementing AI and bots to automate some elements of the customer journey.

“We have to accept the fact that this digitally native audience will want to speak to us digitally and they won’t appreciate it if we take a digital conversation and turn it into an analogue one.”

Automotive Management Live is free for dealer and OEM delegates to attend.

The event includes a focused people seminar and exhibition area, in partnership with the Institute of the Motor Industry, and AM’s Vision of the Future seminar takes a glimpse into the next decade of automotive retailing.
